For someone like myself who grew up using computers, the internet is a dream come true. With this modern day frontier, anyone can claim a space of their own without spending a dime. No matter who you are, if you have internet access then all it takes is some knowledge and creativity on your part to build your own home page. This happens to be my corner on the internet.

After going through tons of backgrounds and text colors to use for a webpage that would be suitable for a self-description, and then deciding on what would be the best mix, I finally arrived at a decision. I went with marble and my favorite color, orange.

Anyway, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joe Park, currently residing in my home town of Portland Oregon. My resume tells you what I am, but here I would like to tell you something about who I am.

My interests are Toastmasters, alternative health & products, organic food, my Casio Keyboard, "tick and cross" style logic puzzles, bicycling, video games (especially the classics), & computer stuff. I enjoy listening to smooth jazz, classic 80s, J-pop (Japanese pop music), and euro-pop. I'm a big fan of the Pet Shop Boys, and one day I'd like to I'd like to meet them in person. As for movies, I like "The Mask," and Japanimation films such as "Wings of Honneamise" and "Arcadia of My Youth."

I enjoy dining on Mexican, Chinese, pizza, or seafood. The only entres that I like from Indian cuisine are masala curry and naan bread. My choice of beverages are lemonade, non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiris (I don't touch alcohol), 7-up, and grapefruit "Jarritos" imported from Mexico, to name a few.

I enjoy activities such as riding my bicycle on Portland's 40 mile loop by Marine drive, located along the Columbia river. I also love to work out at batting cages.

During my relaxation time, I enjoy chai flavored soy milk and Nag Champa incense sticks. Nag Champa is imported from India, and regarded as the "corn flakes" of incense sticks because it has a basic scent and it's the most famous. I'll put on some smooth jazz like Hiroshima or nature sounds. Playing my personalized station at Yahoo's launchcast is another option.

I am always searching for ways to improve my life on all levels, and the internet is a big help with making that happen. That's another wonderful thing about the web: it's unquestionably the ultimate source of information, products, and services. When I find that I truly enjoy, I post it here on my website in the hopes that I'll be able to "pass it forward."

A long term goal of mine is to go a step further by writing my own book. I'd like to share all of the things that I've learned in life with my readers. Some of which had been from others, and the rest are things I had to learn the hard way. However, for me to do that I'd need to achieve something great. After all, where else am I going to get the content for writing a book? Not to mention the publicity!

One day, I plan to create a version 2.0 of my home page that uses more than just HTML, but java and flash. It'll definitely be something redesigned from the ground up. I don't know exactly what direction the internet will take in years to come, but I do know that it's here to stay and I'll be there to be a part of it.

Thank you for reading about who I am, and enjoy your stay at my homepage!
